Software Application Development Apprentice, March 2025

Minimum qualifications:

You do not currently hold or currently not completed a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or PhD degree in computer engineering or computer science related field.

Computer Science, Electrical or other relative degree.

<1 years experience writing code in at least 1 coding language.

Experience coding in one or more of the following languages: Java, C++, or Python .

Preferred qualifications:

Familiarity with Google Workspace, or other set of productivity tools.

How to think critically and with excellent problem solving abilities.

Working independently and with a team framework.

The ability to explore ways to engage with, find suitable solutions and get advice on multiple ambiguous tasks and competing priorities.

Aptitude that would make you an excellent communicator, a person who possesses good organizational skills, who is self motivated, and who has a positive attitude, excellent customer service capacities.

About the joB

The Google Software Application Development Apprenticeship is a learning and development program for 12 months lasting full-time (monday thru friday approx 40 hours of work per week). Apprentices attend in person at their assigned in office location. Through a customized training program, a 20% stint on Google teams with the support of external training, the work experience program is focused on those stepping into a career in Software Application Development. 

As a Software Application development apprentice with Google you will have the skills required to start an entry level career in software development. Your domain will get covered across coding, development, testing and project management. In addition you will learn how to apply problem solving skills to real life challenges, pick up new technical skills (programming in multiple languages), see how software is designed and developed and learn about other industry practices such as software testing.
